What is Website Engagement?

As a marketer, you only have 3 Secs to convert your audience into your subscriber or customer.

Website Engagement is a process of analyzing how well your site users likely to stay on your site and take any actions such as subscribing, buying products or services etc.

It is measured as an average value in percentage with the reference to the time and the total unique visitors in the given time.

It also includes other actions such as:

  • how a visitor clicks on an ad,
  • how a reader interacts with your online customer representative,
  • how a reader contacts you via support form or other means of communication,
  • how a reader gives a like and follows you on social media.

Why is Website Engagement Important?

In the old days, the sites were just pushing good chunks of content that are not highly targeted to the end user.

But Google and other search engines started improving their algorithm that focuses only on quality content delivery to their readers.

Even readers by themselves quickly leave the site if they do not find any useful content and solution to their problem.

The thumb rule to improve user engagement is: Deliver the quality content to the right people at the right time.

The competition in the online business has become tighter and to reach a decent volume in the market, your content needs to be highly interactive.

To actually achieve better user engagement, you should follow three important rules:

  • Analyze: You should use some tools such as Google Analytics to track your site usage.
  • Monitor: It is very important to monitor your user’s behavior, what type of contents (categories) they are looking mostly on your site.
  • Automate: Implement various strategies to direct users to the right categories and help them find a solution or a result.

Why should you measure engagement?

The sole purpose of starting any business is to generate revenue using the business model or by selling a product or a service.
