Organizational goals are defined as the goals that a company tries its best to meet. The term puts its focus on the overall mission, intention, and purpose so that it can provide guiding tips to all the people associated with that firm.

Types of Organizational Goals

Types of organizational goals

The various types of organizational goals are as follows-

1. Official goals

The goals that an organization wants to achieve are known as official goals. These are found in the vision or mission statement and provide details about the general purpose of the organization.

The official goals are qualitative by nature that signifies that they are subjective and hard to measure.

2. Operative goals

The steps that an organization takes to achieve its purpose are known as operative goals. These are what the company needs to achieve and not want to achieve to become successful.

These are based on metrics ad are quantitative by nature. Some operative goals are

Operational Goals 

The goals that are set by and for lower-level managers are known as operational goals. These are created to tackle short-term issues associated with tactical goals.

Strategic Goals 

The goals that have been set by and for top leaders or management group in a company are known as strategic goals. It puts the onus on general issues and is usually meant for long-term. Strategic goals help to set other goals that deal with different areas and time-frames.

Tactical Goals 

The goals that are set for middle managers of different departments are known as tactical goals. These are set by top managers and focus on conducting operations to achieve strategic goals

1. Define your organizational goals
