  • Neither ridiculing friends nor pulling their legs
  • Never mixing friendship with love as it may cause issues and misunderstanding

Key Features of Strong Interpersonal Relationship b/w a Man & a Woman

A solid interpersonal connection between a man and a woman prompts bonding, friendship, love, and ultimately ends in the marriage. A feeling of commitment and responsibility is necessary for such relationships. Partners should also feel attached and, in particular, trust one another.

According to the analysis of the renowned therapist, Robert Sternberg proposed the three-sided hypothesis of love in interpersonal relationships.

As indicated by the three-sided hypothesis of love following three parts play a crucial role as Passion, Intimacy, and Commitment.

Let us understand how these three parts are related to love in the relations between man and woman-

1. Passion

It revolves around the physical as well as sexual fascination between the partners. In such relationships, partners must feel genuinely pulled in towards each other for the charm to continue staying in the relationship for a longer timeframe.

2. Intimacy

How intimate both the partners are in the relationship decides the intimacy. Both the accomplices’ gel with each other, and a solid connection between them must also be fundamental.

3. Commitment

The decision of a man and a woman to stay together forever is understood as a commitment. It is the well-committed decision to be with each other life-long either by wedlock or by staying together.

If any of the variables above are absent from the interpersonal relationship between a man and a woman, then love and the bonding will ultimately fade away. So, incorporating these is inevitable for a successful relationship.

How to Maintain Strong Interpersonal Relationships?

How to Maintain Strong Interpersonal Relationships

To be able to maintain a robust interpersonal relationship feels excellent. Life is complete with it.

To conduct a superior bond is comfortable and adequate.

1. Be cheerful and communicate

Always remember to be cheerful and some days when you think you are sad or not happy, talk it out with your partner in fun. Your partner deserves to know what you have within yourself.

Expressing out is always good for a bond to bloom. Being open will also prove your importance in a relationship.

Also, some days when you are upset or frustrated against your partner, communicate and sort everything out. Frustration and all is usual for humans. And it’s normal for a friendship to engage in disputes. But what wrong is not having it sorted.

2. Have respect & empathy

How you treat people reflects your inner self. Respect is free of cost, needs no effort but brings lots and lots of happiness with self-satisfaction. Empathy and respect both are indirect terms of a caring mind.

Being respectful not only to acquaintances in an interpersonal relationship but every stranger you encounter is essential for a blissful lifestyle.

At some point in life, people are remembering you, neither your appearance nor your thoughts and talking, but they are sure to remember how you treated them.

3. Giving time

Time is salient, and the best anyone can offer. Life is busy, indeed, but some amount of time on days when you are slightly free is to be considered.

Giving time shows the correct amount of importance and value in your life.

Being available to share some part of life can grow the strength of interpersonal relationships to a greater extent.

4. Be a Good Listener

It’s very correctly said that listening is an excellent texture of respect. My life and yours are nothing different; it’s hectic!

This hectic phase of life gives birth to a few good listeners only. You surely want yourself on that list. Such listening acts will draw in more knowledge of each other and brag more connectivity.

Apart from that, it will also make your partner know that they are worth your time and talking.

5. Okay to Disagree

Now, many might think it’s wrong not to agree at all times. The saying, ”not all beings are alike” is accurate, and perhaps, it’s okay not wholly to agree with specific perspectives. But the central figure is to respect and acknowledge the differing thoughts. It’s not something that can be made fun of.

Speak up about differing perspectives and let them not sit in the heart. Let out the thoughts and let your friends know what your thoughts and opinions are.

6. Appreciate in all fields

Yes, compliments! Who doesn’t love compliments? Well, we all love to hear good talking of ourselves.

Appreciating others will likely emerge a clean and pure bond. That will, in turn, path down to more merry hours.

An interpersonal relationship is all about having fun and being happy. What shall be the better element of happiness?

7. Remember the auspicious days

Never, I repeat, never blunder out on birthdays, anniversaries, or any auspicious days of your loved ones. They are essential, and so, their important days are supposed to be important.

Your acquaintances expect a birthday wish. And you need to fulfill it. Else, it will be painful for your loved ones to accept that you missed out on their birthday and not bother to spare a little happy birthday wish!

Final Thoughts!

Having an interpersonal relationship is the main ingredient of life, without which existence is dull and pertains to no meaning. But relations do need time to happen.

To accomplish a successful one, be patient, and learn if you want to go forward with a bond. And then, build a strong and happy interpersonal relationship. Overcome every dispute, every argument, and never give up on your lovely acquaintances.

On the concluding note, we would like your definition of interpersonal relationships.

Share your views upon what interpersonal relationship is and how important it is in personal as well as professional lives.
