Frankly Speaking, I am disappointed with the way a brand like Kareena Kapoor is used in this TVC. Neither does she exude the charm she is capable of, nor does she generate a pull towards the brand. The only thing which is pulled of well is that they want Mahindra Rodeo to be positioned as both a guys and a girls bike and that YOUR girl will love to ride it.
The good - The ad is within the attention span – 40 secs only, Showcases the unique features quite well including a space or storage area for helmets which is really needed nowadays. If the target is college girls, than the ad might work well.
The bad – The product as opposed to the current hit Honda Activa does not stand apart and the ad doesnt help distinguish its features. The chemistry between the leads is poor. and finally the tagline “Dil Bolega – Anything Karega” – How is that connected to the way the ad works out in the end???. She is just seducing her boyfriend to ride a bike. Thats does not go with “dil bolega anything karega well”.
