Although Pepsico has not commented on the time when the exports will be initiated, however the plans are definitely on to start exporting one of the best snacks in India – Pepsico’s Kurkure
The innovative Kurkure has become a leading brand in the packaged snacks segment beating even Lays. The total snacks market is itself 12000 crore and expected to rise over time. Not only Kurkure, Pepsico’s other products such as Nimbooz and Aliva have also attracted interest from overseas markets.
However Pepsico in a correct move does not want to start exporting without a definite plan in place. Pepsico plans to expand much more in the domestic market before it starts entering export. According to PepsiCo India Foods Division Director Marketing Vidur Vyas, Kurkere can be manufactured and distributed in any country but it will be planned only on a long term basis and may take some time to be implemented.
Kurkure has been adding several flavours over years. It has also done some amazing promotions which have promoted value rather then the taste of Kurkere thereby letting it enter the residential market which Lays could not do. However much more importantly, Kurkure has maintained the original taste which people love and the original product itself has had an excellent distribution over time.
Thus it wont be too long that Pepsico decides to actually enter the export market. After all, The one who comes first gets the better profits.
