GCPL – Godrej consumer products limited has become one of the leading FMCG companies which is Indian owned mainly due to various acquisitions, both Indian and abroad that have helped GCPL lead the FMCG market.
The brand has 42% sales from rural areas and 58% from Urban. It has predominantly an urban market. As a result there is still a huge potential for GCPL to grow in the rural market. However along with concentrating on sales in indian soil, GCPL is also concentrating on acquiring other assets such as non indian companies and products.
According to P ganesh – CFO of GCPL, the key here is to maintain synergies within the recent acquisitions as well as the already existing market base. GCPL cannot afford to lose concentration on any of the markets as this can be its undoing.
