Infosys Technologies SWOT

Strength: Early positioning as high end differentiated player thanks to Nandan Nilekani and NR Narayana Murthy, investors and customers prefer the company for its established processes and predictability.

Weakness: Lagging peers in making strategic, ‘game-changing’ acquisitions, consulting business has not delivered the results, losing price premiums, lost its No.2 position in the US market to Cognizant last year.

Taco Bell, the American fast food chain which serves Mexican food is the latest international fast food chain to enter India. It’s been operating an outlet in Bangalore since more than a year now. It plans to expand into other major cities and finally into the tier2 towns and cities, with an aim of setting up 100 outlets in the country by 2015. “Think Outside the bun” the tagline of Taco Bell takes head on other chains selling burgers. The affordable pricing of its food items makes it easily accessible to the mass market in India and pits it directly against the Market Leader, McDonalds. It will be very interesting to see what strategy TACO BELL follows in India and whether it is able to replicate its success outside USA.

The Indian consumer electronics market is estimated to be $5 billion and is growing. Haier group has failed to leverage this growth. Even though the Company is among the top ten global electronics companies but Its innovation is yet not appreciated in India.

Ecco from Maruti Suzuki is a successful vehicle after the recovery from its versa!!

MSI decided to roll out its Maruti Versa , which was showcased along with BIG B, Amitabh when it was launched. Later the vehicle did not have much impact even on its loyal customers due to various reasons such as its maintenance cost (which was too high) as well as the vehicle’s price and shape. Though it was said that new OMNI will replace Versa , the company after 2yrs decided to launch ECCO to position it as MUV in market which follows BS IV compliance.

Weaknesses – Contents of the product are all chemical based which may cause health conscious people to avoid it; 7UP’s (major competitor) website is far more informative than that of Sprite. it offers nutritive facts and answers to frequently asked questions which the Sprite website lacks. Infrequent promotional campaigns and a mixed up voice of communication.
