How to Increase Profits with High Speed Internet

It is not just the future. It is the right now, and it has transformed the way the world does business. Nevertheless, millions of businesses worldwide, particularly rural ones, still use dial-up and other inferior internet connections, and that places them at a significant disadvantage to the competition. So then, why do they settle? Well, they face several deterrents, the most substantial of which is the high start-up cost in rural areas.

In other words, if we can demonstrate how high speed internet actually increases business profits, then that early expense becomes palatable. These are difficult economic times, and just like the average family, the small business must squeeze maximum value out of every dollar.

Start Up your Startup

The first step towards understanding the true value of high speed internet is recognizing that lack of difference between the global market and the business’ backyard. Even just a decade ago, the vast majority of small businesses succeeded or failed based on the local market. This is no longer the case. In fact, the business that limits itself to local resources, especially those dealing in niche markets, has one foot in the grave right from the start.

The increasing importance of social networks in advertising and product development

One of the best example of a third party affecting product development are social networks. The case study in point is of the Telecom Sector. Any mobile / telecom operator is working in such a manner that it enhances the efficiency of social network usage.

Lets take an example of Panasonic’s Viera. The TV is developed by keeping social media in mind. This is truly incredible as even traditional electronics are adapting themselves to fit in social media like Facebook, twitter, skype etc. (Panasonic, in a smart move also includes Bigflix which is a must have on television). Heres the Panasonic viera TVC

Google plus vs Facebook

Too early to do a review of Google plus as a product but one things for certain – Google plus appears to be just a centralised platform for all of googles products rather than being something new whereas Facebook is at a different level altogether!!!

Google Plus

I logged into google plus day before yesterday and have been checking it out rigorously. But i have been disappointed so far. I mean whats new??? Google chat was always there. Google profiles was always there. The status bar looks nothing new but like Google buzz. Where is the real interaction which happens on Facebook. And will we get such interactions? Albums are common. Group video chat is no breakthrough and we hardly have that kind of bandwidth available in India (but it might find business applications sometime down the line).

A Comparison of Traditional, Online, and Mobile advertising

When it comes to low cost advertising for small businesses, the effectiveness of online and mobile advertising appears to have become more effective than more traditional methods. The traditional way to advertise a small business is through the use of newspaper advertisements, flyers, radio advertisements, and the yellow pages. Now that it is possible to advertise through the web or mobile content, however, there are new options available that can cost less and offer more in return.

Changing Times

The cost of traditional advertising strategies has been rising steadily for several years. Despite this, the effectiveness of these same methods appears to be, if anything, dropping. Smart entrepreneurs have taken notice of this fact, and taken advantage of online and mobile advertising strategies that can be less expensive and more effective at the same time.
